It's Beginning to Look a lot like Baby!

I am aware that it has been ages since my last post but as I've suggested before, being pregnant is a day to day reality for us and sometimes it doesn't seem all there's much going on that is note worthy, or blog worthy I guess.
Here's a quick update on our lives:
We had an ultrasound at 37 weeks because my doctor was concerned that the baby hadn't grown significantly for a couple weeks and I was measuring small. Everything went well at the ultrasound and the baby seems to be right on schedule growth-wise. They estimated the weight at that time at 6 pounds  12 ounces so I'm hoping the kid doesn't gain 3 pounds before he arrives. The best part of the ultrasound though was that his femur length was measuring a whole week ahead which means this kid is going to have my length in the legs! Kenny is not looking forward to be the shorty in the family...
We've spent the first bit of April working hard to get ready for the baby. Kenny spent a week building an incredible crib and the nursery has finally come together (I will take some pictures and post them later today). The room feels a little empty however, without a baby. I have been nesting like crazy and have cleaned our house, our car, our fridge, and pretty much anything else I can get my hands on! We also had a session of maternity photos with a photographer friend of Kenny's brother and are waiting to get the prints back this week (I am also promising that these will be posted ASAP!)
Saving the best news for last, yesterday we had a doctor's appointment and the Dr. checked my cervix for the first time. I was 2-3cm dilated, 75% effaced and she said the baby's head is low. She stripped my membranes and said we should have the baby within the next 48 hours! Kenny and I couldn't believe it, could all those long walks really have paid off? I was completely shocked as I didn't think there was any way I could have progressed this far already.
Last night we made some phone calls and told all our friends and family to clear their weekends so that they could come visit the baby should he arrive as predicted. We had a 'last supper' of sorts with Kenny's family (sushi of course!) and did some last minute things around the house. The atmosphere in our house is one of anticipation as Kenny and I are both excited and yet a little nervous for the days that lay ahead. Most of all though, we can't wait to meet our little man! (I'm so excited in fact that I was wide awake at 5:30 this morning, hence the blogging...) I will try and get the pictures I have promised posted late today and will make an extra effort to keep you all updated on the impending labor status.
I'll leave you a picture that Kenny took of me on our couch on Saturday night, my 26th birthday.
